While care is taken to reduce the effects of this by mixing the composite material with UV inhibitors, it is important to note that this board type isn\u2019t totally resistant to weathering and shall undergo a colour change.<\/p>\nThis means that within the opening 3-6 months of installation, the deck boards will lighten up to reach what is regarded as their \u2018weathered colour tone\u2019. In reality, this means that the colour tone of the boards you receive initially will be darker than how they will appear after the weathering process has taken place. The rate of colour change after this process has taken place, however, will remain minimal as the colour of the boards stabilise.
