The Halo Group delivered an extensive upgrade to a premium racecourse hospitality area, creating a refined outdoor environment for VIP guests and visitors.
Developed as part of The Halo Group's work delivering high-quality hospitality structures for major sporting venues, the project was designed to enhance the customer experience while improving the sustainability and long-term versatility of the hospitality structure.
The brief called for a VIP ground-floor bar and a mezzanine level offering excellent views across the venue. Although designed as a demountable event structure, the completed installation needed to appear permanent and integrate naturally with the architecture, character and prestigious surroundings of the racecourse.
As part of the transformation, the external hospitality areas required a commercial decking solution that could combine a premium appearance with dependable performance. The specified material needed to withstand sustained pedestrian traffic, complement the venue's established aesthetic and remain suitable for dismantling, storage and reuse during future events.

Our Commercial Decking Proposal
NeoTimber® supplied 385 m² of Deluxe Solid composite decking in Antique to create a durable, attractive and low-maintenance surface throughout the premium hospitality area.
Working alongside The Halo Group, the decking formed part of a double-height hospitality structure incorporating a ground-floor VIP bar and a mezzanine with prominent views across the venue. Its specification supported the project's objective of delivering the quality and appearance of a permanent installation within a structure designed for future reuse.
The Deluxe Solid board was selected for its robust solid-core construction, providing the strength and stability required for a busy commercial leisure environment. This made it particularly well suited to hospitality areas exposed to frequent pedestrian movement, furniture and day-to-day event operations.
Finished in the warm Antique colourway, the decking introduced a natural timber-inspired appearance that complemented the venue's existing character. Its consistent colour and profile also helped unify the different levels and circulation areas within the installation.
Detailed Finishing for the Terrace, Steps and Ramp
NeoTimber® Composite Edge Boards were specified to complete the large external stepped terrace and accessible ramp. These boards concealed exposed edges and helped create a clean, professional finish across the raised sections of the installation.
Careful edge detailing was particularly important because the terrace, steps and ramp were prominent parts of the hospitality structure. The selected boards provided clear visual definition while maintaining a consistent appearance alongside the Antique decking.
The result was a coordinated finish across horizontal surfaces, changes in level and exposed perimeter edges, contributing to the polished character expected from a premium sports venue hospitality environment.
Why Deluxe Solid Composite Decking?

The Completed Racecourse Installation
The completed installation provided a refined foundation for the upgraded hospitality experience. Across 385 m², the Antique composite decking created a consistent visual connection between the VIP bar, mezzanine, terrace, external steps and accessible ramp.
The finished structure combined premium materials, glass balustrades, carefully detailed handrails and reusable composite decking to create an environment that felt integrated with the racecourse rather than temporary.
By combining commercial-grade construction with a warm timber-inspired finish, the decking helped The Halo Group deliver an inviting hospitality space capable of meeting the practical demands of a major sporting venue.
