FAQs

Can composite fencing be installed on soft ground?

NeoTimber’s composite post set for soft ground gives you the ability to install your composite fencing into soft ground. The galvanised steel post support is sunk into the ground and secured with post mix concrete, before the composite fence post sits over the support, acting as a sleeve.

Can I install a composite fence panel lower than 1.8m?

While NeoTimber® supplies their fencing product in a 1.8m panel, it is possible to purchase fencing components that allow for installation of smaller panels. Should you wish to purchase materials for a fence lower than the 1.8m panels we offer as standard, we advise that you start by calculating your requirements on our handy fencing [...]

What materials are used to manufacture NeoTimber® composite fencing?

NeoTimber’s composite fence panels are primarily made up of a wood plastic composite material. The composite fence boards and composite fence posts that we offer are a premium, capped composite material (which is unlike many composite fencing solutions in the market). This product offers a much higher level of stain and fade resistance than traditional [...]

Is composite fencing resistant to staining?

Not all composite fencing on the market is, but our NeoTimber® composite fencing is completely resistant to staining. The capped composite surface of NeoTimber’s composite fencing means that any staining can be simply washed or scrubbed away with hot, soapy water.

How do I calculate how much composite fencing I need?

Using our composite fencing calculator, you can make a rough estimate about how many composite fencing panels you will need for your project. Measure the linear metreage length needed and input this information into the calculator. Please note that none of NeoTimber’s material calculators account for wastage, and we would advise making an allowance of [...]

How do I clean composite fencing?

Like all NeoTimber® composite products, our composite fencing is low maintenance and incredibly easy to clean, needing only a basic wipe down with warm, soapy water every six months or so.

Can I paint composite fencing?

No, you should not paint composite fencing. Paints have solvents which will not react well to the capped surface. Thankfully, our fencing is fade resistant so won't need re-painting, and comes supplied in five premium colours, antique, charcoal, teak, chocolate and grey.

Can I use a pressure washer on composite fencing?

You can use a pressure washer for any particularly stubborn stains but be careful not to hold the nozzle too close to the surface of the composite fencing profile, as this can cause damage. Note that we recommend using the fan attachment on your pressure washer as to not cause any damage to the fencing [...]
