Introducing NeoTimber® eco fencing. Create a premium, long-life garden border whilst remaining sustainable.

One of the understandable concerns facing all types of outdoor builds is how environmentally friendly and sustainable the materials used are. We are all rightfully becoming more aware of how we can each do our own individual part to cut back on our carbon emissions. Thankfully, NeoTimber’s composite eco fencing is made from responsibly sourced recycled plastic and timber fibres.

Composite Vs Timber Fencing

Timber, as a natural material, is often touted as an ecologically responsible material. However, it is important to do your research before buying traditional wooden fencing, and consider the additional environmental costs associated with its upkeep. For example, most timber fencing will need annual painting and staining to protect it from moisture, and the chemical preservatives used can be incredibly harmful to the environment.

The reduced lifespan of timber and the tiresome upkeep associated with it all results in a lower lifetime value earned from the material when compared to composite. A material comprised primarily of recycled plastic and reclaimed timber, NeoTimber’s eco composite fencing solution takes old, unwanted materials and turns them into a solution that outperforms its alternatives.

Composite Vs Concrete Posts

Because timber is a natural material and will eventually decompose, it has led to specifiers choosing more hard-wearing materials for their fencing builds. Concrete is another widely used fencing alternative. The problem is, whilst it is incredibly long lasting, it is also an extremely environmentally unfriendly material.

Previously, when comparing concrete with timber when planning fencing builds, it may have been seen as a difficult compromise; do you choose something environmentally friendly, or long lasting? With NeoTimber®, you no longer have to settle for one or the other. With our composite fencing, you have a far more eco friendly fence alternative than concrete, whilst still being having the desired longevity and structural integrity.

Retrofit Your Existing Fencing

Every garden design is different, and with recycling and “upcycling” remaining an incredibly popular trend, it is no wonder that more people are looking to reuse their pre-existing outdoor structures even when purchasing new materials. Whilst we do recommend the full NeoTimber® composite fencing system, it is adaptable to other kinds of posts, allowing you to swap out and replace your existing fencing panels for our composite fence slats.

Retrofitting is a great way to make your fencing more sustainable, by simply repurposing your pre-existing fencing builds. Using the relevant inserts, our eco fence panels can be fixed to both timber posts and concrete posts, as well as our own composite fence posts. This enables you to recycle and expand upon your previous outdoor fencing installation, and to not waste any material unnecessarily.
