In this article, we will outline in detail how to retrofit with composite fencing, and the main advantages of doing so. Let’s take a look…

Attaching Your Fence Post Inserts To Existing Fence Posts Is Simple

For both concrete and timber posts, we have designed a post insert designed to work in tandem with our composite fence boards. First, place the insert flush to your existing timber or concrete post surface, before drilling it into place at four points along its length. Once securely fixed, the channel of the post insert is used to place the bottom rail in position, which enables you to stack your tongue-and-groove composite fencing boards on top of one another to create your completed composite fence panel.

If you were to use our composite fence posts, the centre distance between them would be 1800mm. However, we acknowledge that this distance may be slightly different with existing posts. Thankfully, our composite boards can be cut down to size just like traditional timber, meaning you can seamlessly fit them between the existing distance between your posts. The bottom and top capping rails can also be cut down with the appropriate metal cutting tools.

Retrofitting Fencing Guarantees Less Labour With Contemporary Visuals

Renovating your garden space can be an incredibly difficult, labour-intensive process, especially with rigid concrete posts that have been fixed into the ground. Instead of dismantling or even demolishing these previous builds, save yourself the back breaking work by using what you have as the foundational stepping stones for a new fencing project.

As well as being hard to remove, some homeowners will choose to retain their existing posts simply for their aesthetic appeal, especially with timber. Though composite material is a low-maintenance, long-lasting material and is designed to emulate the look and feel of real timber, it cannot be denied that there is a visual quality for traditional wooden posts. By using our post inserts, you can retain this advantage, whilst making sure your composite fence panels themselves withstand the test of time. Make your outdoor project a forefront for modern design, whilst still embracing more rustic, traditional installations.

Retrofitting Your Composite Fencing Ultimately Ensures Less Waste

When you are renovating your garden space or outdoor project, it can be frustrating to completely uproot the fencing that was in place before. However, with our concrete and timber fence post inserts, you can keep the foundational skeleton of your pre-existing fencing, and only replace the composite fence panels and capping rails between your posts.

Additionally, NeoTimber’s composite panels are incredibly long lasting, removing the necessity for replacing your fencing further down the line. In fact, we are so confident about the longevity of our products that they come afforded with an unbeatable 25-year residential warranty, as well as a 10-year warranty for commercial projects.
