Composite Cladding Cost and Prices: A Complete Budget Guide

composite cladding cost and prices

Plan Your Cladding Budget from Board Prices to Installation

Composite cladding cost depends on more than the price of a board. The range, installed coverage, supporting frame, finishing details and labour all contribute to the amount you will spend. Delivery and preparation work also need a place in the budget.

This guide compares NeoTimber® composite cladding prices and explains how to turn a product shortlist into a realistic project estimate. Start with suitable boards, calculate their effective coverage, then build up the cost of the complete installation.

How Much Does Composite Cladding Cost?

At the time of checking, NeoTimber® board listings started at £15.30 including VAT for Classic cladding. Other profiles and lengths have different prices, as shown below. These are board-only prices, not installed costs or prices per square metre.

Prices checked on 30 September 2026. Offers, variants and availability can change. Follow the product links to confirm the price of your selected colour and length before ordering.

NeoTimber® composite cladding board prices, including VAT:
Board range Length shown Listed price per board
Classic 3.6 m From £15.30; promotional listing, regular price £17.00
Deluxe Woodgrain 2.5 m From £22.00
Deluxe Brushed 3.6 m £30.00
Slatted 2.5 m From £27.00
Board & Batten Slatted 3.6 m £37.00

Deluxe Woodgrain and Slatted also offer 3.6 m options; check the selected variant for its price. Because lengths and coverage differ, this table is a starting point for your shortlist rather than a like-for-like comparison of cost per square metre.

How to Compare Composite Cladding Cost per m²

Cost per square metre is useful when comparing boards with different widths and lengths. Use the effective installed coverage, which accounts for the way boards fit together, rather than simply multiplying their overall physical dimensions.

Board-only cost per m² = price per board ÷ effective coverage per board in m².

Ask for the coverage figure for the exact profile and length you are considering. Then confirm whether a quoted rate includes VAT, cutting allowance, accessories or delivery. Two prices labelled “per m²” may cover very different things.

A Worked Budgeting Example

For illustration only, suppose a board costs £30 including VAT and provides 0.50 m² of effective coverage. Its board-only rate would be £60 per m². For a 20 m² area with an assumed 10% cutting allowance, the calculation would be:

  • 20 m² × 1.10 = 22 m² of planned board coverage.
  • 22 m² ÷ 0.50 m² = 44 boards.
  • 44 × £30 = £1,320 for boards only.

These are hypothetical inputs, not the coverage specification or quotation for a NeoTimber® product. The correct allowance depends on the cutting layout, and the total still needs the subframe, fixings, trims, delivery and installation added.

What Else Belongs in the Project Budget?

Build your estimate in separate sections so you can see what is included and where further information is needed.

  • Cladding boards: quantities based on the chosen layout, effective coverage and cutting plan.
  • Supporting frame: suitable joists or battens, packers and wall anchors.
  • Board fixings: the specified starter clips and screws for the selected system.
  • Finishing components: compatible trims and their fixings for corners, openings and exposed edges.
  • Wall preparation: removal of existing finishes, repairs and any specified membranes or flashings.
  • Installation: labour, access equipment and waste removal where needed.
  • Delivery: the charge applicable to the order, location and service.

Check the cladding accessories guide as you draw up the component list. A low board price does not tell you the cost of finishing a wall with several corners or window reveals.

Why Composite Cladding Prices Vary

Construction, Finish and Profile

Classic, capped finishes and slatted profiles offer different appearances and specifications. Compare suitable products first, then consider which finish provides the look you want within the budget. A higher price is not, by itself, evidence that a product is more suitable for your building.

Board Length and Cutting Layout

A longer board may cost more individually but reduce the number of joints for a particular wall. A shorter length may suit another elevation with less waste. Draw the board runs before deciding which length gives the better result.

Openings, Corners and Orientation

A plain rectangular wall is different from an elevation with several windows, doors and changes in direction. Those details influence cutting, trims and installation time. Board orientation can also affect the supporting frame arrangement.

Site Conditions and Access

The existing wall, working height and access affect preparation and labour. Ask an installer to assess the actual project rather than applying a generic installed rate without checking what it includes.

Estimate Quantities Before Requesting a Quote

Measure each wall separately and record openings, corners and the intended board direction. Use the NeoTimber® cladding calculator as a starting point, then check the result against the planned layout.

Do not assume that subtracting every opening from the wall area gives the final purchase quantity. Boards may still need to be cut around those openings, and some offcuts may not be reusable elsewhere.

Ask for an itemised quote that identifies the exact range, colour, length and quantity of each component. Confirm pack sizes for fixings and include a cutting allowance appropriate to the design. Reviewing these details before ordering is more useful than relying on one headline total.

Allow for Delivery and Installation Costs

Check the current delivery policy and the charge for your order before finalising the budget. Service availability, destination and order value can affect the options. Confirm any free-delivery eligibility and exclusions rather than assuming a threshold applies to every address or service.

If you would prefer to collect, contact the team to confirm the current arrangements before travelling. Coordinate delivery or collection with safe storage and the installation schedule.

For labour, obtain a project-specific quotation. Check whether it includes preparation, the frame, boards, trims, access equipment and disposal, and whether VAT is included where applicable. This makes comparisons between installers more meaningful.

How to Keep Composite Cladding Costs Under Control

  • Compare samples first. Confirm the finish before placing the main order.
  • Plan board lengths. Reduce avoidable offcuts through a considered cutting layout.
  • Resolve the edges early. Include trims and opening details in the first quotation.
  • Check quantities once the design is settled. Late changes can create surplus material or another delivery.
  • Compare equivalent quotes. Keep the specification, VAT basis and included work consistent.
  • Follow the installation guidance. Do not reduce required supports or omit components to lower the initial bill.

Value also includes upkeep. Review the cleaning requirements and applicable warranty terms alongside the purchase price. A warranty has conditions and exclusions; it is not a promise that every project expense or future maintenance task is covered.

Composite Cladding Cost and Prices FAQs

Are Composite Cladding Prices Quoted per Board or per m²?

Both formats are used. The prices in this article are per board, including VAT. To compare area costs, divide the board price by its effective installed coverage and check what additional items are excluded.

Does the Board Price Include Installation?

No. The listed prices cover the board only. Budget separately for accessories, the supporting frame, delivery and installation unless your quotation explicitly includes them.

Which NeoTimber® Cladding Has the Lowest Starting Board Price?

Classic had the lowest starting board price in the collection when checked. Compare effective coverage and the complete project specification before deciding which option offers the best value for your wall.

Can I Get a Reliable Installed Cost from Wall Area Alone?

Wall area helps with an initial estimate, but openings, access, preparation and finishing details also affect the cost. Provide photographs and measurements when requesting an installation quote.
