The primary benefits of traditional composite cladding.

There are two main kinds of consumers who will look to install cladding. Modern trendsetters and homely, salt-of-the-earth homeowners. Traditional cladding can replace existing timber or uPVC cladding, cover up bricked up windows or doors, or marry together newer additions to the house (such as an extension) to match in with the existing house exterior.

Traditional composite cladding (the Classic range) uses our first generation of composites. Made from a 60/30/10 mix of wood fibres, plastic and resin, it is more robust than timber and resistant to moisture absorption. Below, we outline some of the benefits of opting for this material.

The Rustic Look

Traditional composite cladding has a more bohemian look. Giving your home a more rustic feel, the product weathers in the initial phases of its life to a more natural shade and then holds its tone from there on in. This is achieved by adding ultraviolet inhibitors which withstand the damaging effects of UV.

Water Resistant

Traditional composite cladding is created by fusing together plastic polymers and wood fibres. These ingredients mesh to form a strong flexible material which resists moisture. The plastic polymers in traditional composite cladding coat the wood fibres giving them a rain jacket to protect against moisture absorption.

Durable

Composite cladding is designed to outlast timber. Because it is not 100% organic it is not prone to erosion, rot and fungal growth like timber. Timber, once part of a tree, continues to absorb moisture after it is felled but the addition of plastic polymers strengthens the composition of our cladding making it durable to last for years without treatment or staining.

Easy To Cut To Size

Our composite cladding is supplied 3.6m length boards and can easily be sawn to length. Whether cutting lengthwise, across or creating a mitre, traditional composite cladding is a versatile material, and is our most lightweight range.
