NeoTimber’s innovative composite shiplap cladding is designed for easy installation.
Installing composite cladding, especially at height can be a tricky business. Working on ladders with tongue and groove composite cladding boards weighing over 10kg each is something which must be carefully planned. Easy installation takes the stress out of the whole process.
To simplify the process for you, we have engineered easy to install cladding. Designed with a tongue and groove feature, our composite cladding can be easily installed by first fitting a framework of battens. Your alternative options for improving your exterior include painting, stone cladding or rendering, all of which require significantly more time. An easy-to-install cladding solution may well be the alternative solution that could save you both time and money (both in the short run and long run).
Fixing Made Easy
Some composite cladding companies have devised over-complicated installation systems, which dramatically increases your overall price. At NeoTimber® we felt there was no need to reinvent the wheel and so created simple composite tongue and groove siding with a discreet shiplap design.
All you need to install your cladding is to fix battens contrary to the direction of the boards, so horizontally if fitting vertically, or vertically if fitting horizontally. We have engineered starter clips to affix your first board to the batten. You can then simply slot subsequent cladding boards in and screw them directly through into the battens using our cladding screws. Trim options are fixed with discreet colour-coded screws.
A Long-Life Subframe
Whilst it may be cheaper to use timber to build your subframe, it makes very little sense to buy a long-life composite cladding product if the frame you are going to build it upon is liable to rot, warp and crack, over time. Timber is also vulnerable to insect damage.
At NeoTimber® we have developed a range of composite joists to be used in conjunction with our shiplap cladding. Lightweight and easy to work with, our composite joists provide a firm, stable base for your cladding ensuring no wood boring insects can damage your frame, giving you beautiful-looking cladding for many years to come.
Additional Composite Cladding Features That Help Make For Easy Installation
Composite Cladding – Easy To Cut
You may think that composite cladding is difficult to cut, making installing a time-consuming business. But our composite T & G cladding cuts very much like timber. In fact, you would only need to use the same woodworking tools you would use for wooden cladding to cut through our shiplap composite siding with ease.
Finishing Touches – Icing On The Cake
Once your cladding is attached, you just need to sharpen edges and corners to give it that completed look. Simply screw through the face of either our skirting trim or corner trim into the cladding board or subframe. For extra strength, a secondary application of glue along the inside of the trims can also assist.
