What are the advantages of using WPC cladding?

WPC cladding, also know as “wood plastic composite cladding”, is an ideal solution for modern cladding projects. But just what is WPC cladding? How does it perform when compared to other cladding alternatives? And just what types of WPC cladding are available on the market? In this article, we highlight the advantages of adding NeoTimber’s WPC cladding to the exterior of your home, garden room, or commercial space. Let’s take a look…

High Quality Design

Unlike with many other cladding alternatives, WPC cladding comes supplied in a range of different textures and colours, making it far easier to find something that matches your desired design specifications. Our cladding selection includes the Classic range, which comes supplied with a sanded texture, the Deluxe range, which has a more realistic, etched woodgrain texture, and the Slatted range, which is designed to look like thin stacked, timber battens, for a sleek, linear effect. All of our WPC cladding boards are available in 1 of our 5 colours; the naturalistic teak and chocolate, the neutral toned grey and antique, as well as the dark, sumptuous black charcoal.

Each of our rich colours is dyed into the WPC cladding material itself, removing the need to painstakingly paint your cladding in your desired colour. In fact, unlike with timber, WPC cladding does not need any kind of treatments or preservatives at all to protect it from the elements, as its easy-clean surface repels the damaging effects of moisture. The UV inhibitors built into the cladding also prevents the colour from fading beyond an initial plateau, ensuring the high-quality colour lasts for longer.

High-Quality WPC Cladding

No cladding is completely non combustible. However, all of our composite cladding is fire rated at a “Class C”, which means the material will have a limited contribution in the event of a fire. This is a significant improvement for most timber cladding, which normally has a “Class D” fire rating, unless properly treated with fire retardants. Please note; “Class C” fire rated material will not be suitable for high-rise buildings over 11m. For more information about our fire rating, and to learn how it is assessed, please click here.

WPC cladding is also an eco-friendly alternative to traditional timber, as composite uses recycled plastic fibres alongside timber fragments in its material makeup. Because it is so long-lasting, it could be argued that it has greener credentials than other cladding options, as it will not need to be torn down, replaced, or stained with harmful chemical preservatives. Timber cladding, though a natural material, will eventually need to be swapped out at some expense, as it slowly decomposes. With composite cladding, you can be certain the exterior of your space is built to last.

Stand Out From The Crowd

First impressions count, for both residential and commercial spaces. For a commercial space, how your location looks can have a massive impact on how any potential customers view your business. These good looks are backed up with our 25-year residential warranty, and our 10-year commercial warranty, so you know our high quality WPC cladding is designed for the long term.

WPC siding, also know as “wood plastic composite siding” can also be used to modernise a garden shed. helping to transform it into a more contemporary outdoor room.
