Outdoor composite balustrades – elevate the design of your garden space.
Outdoor composite balustrades are a fantastic way to complement other features in your garden space, such as decking, cladding, fencing, and planting themes. With modern outdoor balustrades and their easy clean surfaces, and broad range of colours available, it’s never been easier to maintain a long lasting piece of outdoor design flair. In this article, we outline the design benefits of installing outdoor balustrades in your space, and how they can help to transform your garden. Let’s take a look…
5 Premium Colours
Unlike with many other options available for outdoor balustrades, NeoTimber’s composite balustrade solution has a range of different colours to choose from, to help you to find something suitable for your design preferences. These colours include the naturalistic teak and chocolate, the dark grey and charcoal, and the modern antique. The posts and rails are also etched with a brushed texture, giving them a more realistic feel and grip.
While we have especially designed the colours to match our pre-existing decking, cladding, and fencing ranges, there is nothing stopping you mixing and matching the colours to create something more individualistic. For example, the earthy tones of teak would pair brilliantly with the darker brown chocolate, and the grey works when matched with our black charcoal options. The antique option, as a more neutral tone, allows you to create brilliant focal points of intense colour when paired with more vibrant, intense furnishings or planting.
Easy Clean Qualities
Both outdoor wooden balustrades and glass outdoor balustrades can be extremely difficult to keep clean. Timber especially, as a naturally porous material, absorbs moisture, which can encourage mould and mildew growth. Though glass is not a porous material, it will need to be cleaned more regularly with special glass cleaner, as fingerprints, smudges, and other kinds of staining will be more noticeable on a transparent material.
In comparison, the capped polymer surface of our composite posts and railings means it will only need a basic wipe down occasionally to keep it looking its best. Most persistent marks and staining can be tackled with a sponge, and a bucket of hot, soapy water, applied in small, circular movements. Visual Texture
Because of the way many new-build estates are designed, garden spaces can often end up looking flat and uninspiring. This has its advantages however, as it allows you – the homeowner – to have complete control in creating a visually interesting, creative outdoor space. A simple way to create a sense of texture and character is to add different “zones” into your garden space. Examples of zones are broad and versatile; it could be the installation of a garden shed, the creation of a decking or patio space, or making an outdoor seating area. Outdoor stair balustrades are the perfect addition to make the zones more interesting. You can use them to border raised decking spaces, stairs, balcony projects, or even small garden walkways.
At NeoTimber®, we have seen our products used for an abundance of breath-taking residential and commercial projects. We have collected our favourite builds in our case studies and galleries pages, to give you some inspiration about what can be achieved with our outdoor composite balustrades. Still not convinced?
