Let’s explore how NeoTimber® composite cladding panels can really help elevate the look of your home.
Composite cladding panels are an ideal material for decorating the exterior of your property. Smart, stylish, and designed to last for the long term, composite cladding panels can quickly transform the look of your property, elevating a tired building front into a modern architectural masterpiece. In this blog post, we will explore the advantages of our composite cladding panels, to highlight why their use can improve the aesthetics of your space. We will outline the colours, textures, and composite cladding profiles available, so you can decide what’s right for you. Let’s take a look…
What’s Available?
You can purchase 3 different profiles for our composite cladding panel options. These are our Classic cladding, which has a sanded texture, our Deluxe, which boasts a more realistic woodgrain effect, or our Slatted, which is styled to look like thin, stacked individual timber battens. The Classic boards are made from our “first generation” composite and do not have the same capped layer that our Deluxe and Slatted boards have as standard. However, it is still a fantastic cladding choice for a slightly cheaper budget, and can still be bought in 1 of 4 colours.
Our capped boards can be bought in 1 of 5 cladding colours, namely antique, teak, charcoal, chocolate, and grey. The advantage of choosing capped composite cladding panels over traditional boards is the additional protection that a capped layer provides. NeoTimber’s capped composite is imbued with UV inhibitors, which minimises the effects of fading. It is also better equipped to prevent damage from moisture and is easier to clean. You can compare our ranges by clicking here. All 3 of our options are supported with a 25-year residential warranty, or a 10-year warranty if you are specifying a commercial build.
Why Composite?
NeoTimber’s composite cladding panels are made from a mixture of recycled wood and plastic fibres. This combination gives the material the look and feel of traditional wood, and the longevity of plastic, avoiding the negatives of both materials. Traditional timber cladding, though undeniably popular, can be an expensive thing to look after in the long term. It will need regular staining and painting to prevent moisture damage or fading. We’re certain you will have seen tired timber cladding before now; bleached, rotten, and falling apart. So what’s the alternative?
Sadly, single-use plastic cladding does not fare much better in the long term. Plastic can become incredibly brittle and crack over time, and there’s no escaping that thinner, more flimsy PVC can make a space appear much cheaper. This is where composite comes out on top. It is an incredibly low-maintenance material, needing only a basic clean every 6 months or so to keep it looking its best. It is also less likely to fade, especially if you specify our capped composite options. For more information about how our cladding fades when exposed to sunlight, click here.
What Are The Advantages?
Are there any benefits to adding composite cladding panels to the exterior of your space, beyond simple aesthetics? All of our cladding is fire rated (Class C for Classic, Class D for Deluxe and Slatted) making it suitable for any low-rise buildings (below 11m). To learn more about our fire ratings and what these classifications mean, click here. Our cladding is also easy to install and can be done as a DIY job. However, we would recommend hiring one of our approved installers if you are less confident about using the tools.
It is important too when purchasing composite cladding panels to consider them a long-term investment. Though timber cladding is normally cheaper in the short term, in the long term, there will be further costs associated with its continual upkeep. As timber is prone to decomposition if not properly treated, you may even need to pay for an expensive replacement further down the line. Choose composite, and know that your composite cladding will last for years to come.
By specifying our composite cladding panels to adorn your space, you can elevate your property to something at the forefront of modern exterior design. Composite cladding panels are easy to install, and clean, and will look fantastic for the entirety of their lifespan. With 3 different textures and 5 colours to choose from, every space could benefit from the full NeoTimber® composite cladding solution.
