Project Background

The Raymond Mays JD Wetherspoons pub in Bourne recently underwent a building-wide renovation. Both the interior and exterior were completely redesigned, with the interior displaying framed pictures celebrating the town’s notable figures, including the pub’s namesake, the race car driver Raymond Mays.

The outdoor seating area also needed to match this new, modern aesthetic. The cladding had to be low maintenance, future proof and at least class-D fire rated, as the cladding was adorning both the side of the building and the underside of the roof.

Our Proposal

We recommended our capped composite cladding, as it is UV resistant, meaning it will keep its colour for year to come. Two colours were chosen; grey cladding for the side of the building and teak cladding for the underside of the roof. These two cladding colours were selected to not only complement each other but to work with the existing decor and furniture of the seating area.

Due to the height of the installation, low maintenance and fire safety remained of the upmost importance. Regular cleaning of walls is not something you want to consider when running a busy public space! Our class-d fire rated cladding and 10-year commercial warranty has helped to effectively future proof this redesign for years of patrons to come.
