A Raised Antique Deck Space For A Sloping Garden
Project Background
A sloped back garden requires careful consideration and often offers logistical challenges to the decking installer. Previously, the homeowners built a tiered set of patio steps to make the best use of the sharp incline leading to the house. The original patio slabs looked aged and weather-beaten and were proving hazardous during wet weather. It was clear that the space needed an upgrade—one that was easier to clean and look after and could give the homeowner more space for an outdoor seating area.
Our Proposal
NeoTimber’s approved installers at Proud Gardens specified our Antique Deluxe deck boards for the project. Instead of removing the original patio steps, the decking was simply built over it, creating a tall structure with storage space underneath. The decking was carefully arranged into a series of steps, with mitred corners, lighting and accompanying NeoTimber Balustrades for additional support.
At the top of the stairs was the main decking space, with Deluxe woodgrain Antique decking boards laid in an alternating pattern, framed by our smoky Charcoal boards providing a beautiful contrast. The picture frame of the Charcoal boards were cut to size to accommodate any obstacles such as the edge of the conservatory and drainpipes.
