Commercial Project (Restaurant) - Classic Grey

Project Background

Located in the village of Sheepy Parva in the Midlands – the San Giovanni restaurant brings together authentic Italian cuisine and an idyllic lakeside view, offering the perfect spot to dine alfresco. The wrap-around balcony of the restaurant boasts excellent views and a relaxing ambiance and is the restaurant’s most popular dining space in the summer months.

However, years of entertainment had taken its toll on the pre-existing timber decking that made up the balcony. It had weathered badly and the ongoing maintenance requirements were becoming both costly and time consuming. The owners and management were seeking an alternative solution which not only looked better for longer but also provided a safer flooring solution for years to come.

Our Proposal

An all-weather product that provides strength as well as upgraded aesthetics – the Classic Grey deck board was the natural choice for the restaurant. The solid construction of the board ensured exceptional long-term strength, ideal for the added weight load that came in the form of both restaurant guests and furniture. Safety remained of upmost importance for the restaurant and the deep, textured woodgrain finish of the boards (which are resistant to the damaging effects of algae growth) ensured added slip resistance.

Two years after installation, we returned to the restaurant to take some photographs of the decking area. Despite heavy use over the course of two busy summers and as many cold winters, the deck had retained its striking good looks, etched wood grain finish, and felt just as robust as when first installed.
