We take a look at five interesting things you may not have known about synthetic fencing.

Synthetic fencing, or composite fencing, is simply the name given to any fencing made from composite material. Although composite materials are well known in the world of outdoor design and landscaping, if you are undertaking a DIY job, you may not be as clued up on the many advantages to choosing composite for your fencing projects.

In this article, we will outline 5 things you may not have known about synthetic fence panels, to help you become more accustomed to the benefits of the material. Let’s take a look.

1 It Can Be Installed On Both Soft And Hard Ground Applications

The customisable nature of NeoTimber’s composite synthetic fence solution makes it the ideal choice for a vast range of different outdoor applications. It is the first modern fencing system truly designed for any garden space, with parts and components able to be swapped out or bought individually to accommodate your more exact needs.

We have even created specific parts for distinct kinds of builds. For example, you can choose from soft ground or hard ground inserts, to help you either concrete your fencing into the earth, or securely drill the posts into place onto a more rigid surface. This in turn limits the amount of preparatory work you need to perform prior to fencing installation.

2 You Can Retrofit Existing Posts

At NeoTimber®, we have aimed to make the installation process of our synthetic fence boards as painless as possible. With this in mind, we have included the option to retrofit and rejuvenate any existing fencing projects, to try and help eliminate any unnecessary wastage and make sure you are getting the most out of your original installations. After all, if your timber or concrete posts are still in good condition, it would be an awful shame to uproot them!

With our timber and concrete post inserts, you can create a channel designed to fit our individual composite boards, in turn resulting in finished synthetic wood fence panels. This works in the same way as the standard composite synthetic fence posts but allows you to make use of the posts that are already there. Should the boards be too long between your posts, you can easily cut them down to size like real timber. Our metal capping rails can also be cut down with appropriate cutting tools.

3 You Can Finish Your Fencing With Our Decorative Screens

Full height synthetic wood fence panels can have the disadvantage of not allowing light, sound, or airflow to enter your space. Though with our separate individual synthetic fencing boards, you can determine the desired height of your fencing yourself, you may want something both functional and decorative to allow this light, sound and airflow through. With 4 colour matched decorative metal screens to choose from, you can create a stunning piece of modern garden design with ease, allowing your garden to feel more like an open space.

You can select the kaleidoscopic design of the Geometric screen, to create a hypnotic, near-symmetrical pattern. Or why not make a statement with the modern art inspired Contemporary screen? Alternatively, you can go far simpler – the parallel lines of the Linear screen pair perfectly with our Slatted fencing solution, and the naturalistic effect of the Leaf screen works with the realistic woodgrain of our Deluxe boards. Whatever you choose – your garden space will be at the forefront of modern design.

4 Our Synthetic Fencing Is Available In 5 Different Colours

With other fencing alternatives, to create a more interesting, coloured backdrop for your space, you will need to spend a lot of time, not to mention money, evenly painting the surface of your panels. In contrast, with NeoTimber’s synthetic wood fence boards, the colour is already mixed into the makeup of the composite material. You can choose from 5 distinct colours and two different textures, a reversible brushed/woodgrain effect with our Deluxe to emulate natural timber, or our Slatted range designed to look like stacked individual battens.

The versatility offered with our range of colours allows you to easily create a fencing border to match the rest of your outdoor design theme. The realistic tones of teak and chocolate are best used if you want to try and match the look and feel of a traditional timber fence. Antique and grey are a great neutral backdrop and can make the more vibrant colours of any planting themes stand out. Finally, the deep, black charcoal is a rich, modern fencing solution for any garden fencing project designed to command attention.

5 NeoTimber® Fencing Is Afforded With An Unbeatable Warranty

Natural materials like timber can look great and perform well in the initial phases, the clear disadvantage is how the completed fencing will respond to the prolonged effects of weathering, UV exposure and external damage. With synthetic wood fence posts and panels, you do not have to worry about longevity. The capped polymer shell that surrounds the tongue and groove composite boards will protect your fencing from moisture, and the UV inhibitors built into the material will ensure your fencing retains its rich and vibrant dual-tone colour.

We are passionate about ensuring our customers have peace of mind after the installation of our synthetic composite fencing. In fact, we are so confident in the quality of our material, we are prepared to put our money where our mouth is. You can rest easy knowing that all our composite fencing comes supplied with an unbeatable residential warranty of 25-years, as well as a 10-year warranty for commercial projects.
