Home Garden – Deluxe Grey Decking

Project Background

This customer had previously laid timber and while generally happy with the look and finish, were keen to upgrade to an alternative. A timber deck that looked beautiful and idyllic at first, soon altered as the weather played its part in splintering, warping, rotting their deck and their only option was to go back to the drawing board and look at alternatives.

The concept for this client’s garden was to make it as maintenance-free as possible after the issues with their timber deck. They wanted something to relax on that when the sun is shining. They really wanted a space that was clean and modern, which suited their artificial grass and borders, with the plan to incorporate porcelain slabs at a later date. This garden was on a slope so the subframe for the composite deck was levelled so they were able to enter from the top of the garden from the steps onto the deck. They have since added furniture and a hot tub creating an ideal space for entertaining.

Our Proposal

The client approached us with what they wanted as they planned on laying the deck in the same shape and size they had previously. With this being the couple’s forever home, it was vital that they opted for something that would not only upgrade their space, but also offer long-term reassurance.

The four-sided capping of the Deluxe range offered enhanced fade resistance and stain resistance and ensured that the couple would not have a repeat of excessive painting and sanding requirements that was so often required with the timber deck. This upgraded deck meant the clients are able to enjoy this space for many years and will look immaculate all year round with very little up-keep, giving them more time to simply enjoy their outdoor space.
