Home Balcony – Deluxe Chocolate Decking

Project Background

The drab, run-down exterior and unsteady feel of this client’s balcony forced her to resort to an alternative solution to her once-loved timber decking area. Having laid the timber boards down a number of years ago, the area had fallen into a tired, run-down balcony far from the serene setting it had once provided its owner. Despite a level of regular up keep in the form of painting – the boards and supporting subframe had failed the client and there was a calling for a more structurally sound solution that still looked just as good as what the timber had all those years ago.

Our Proposal

The main priority for the customer was to ensure that the replacement solution was first and foremost safe. This was ensured with the construction of a steel subframe that ran across the balcony. Our Deluxe Chocolate boards were then supplied as a means of providing a hard wearing “deck-board” flooring solution. The boards protective shell ensured that the high level of UV rays on the south facing balcony did not discolour or fade the boards over the course of their lifetime. The traditional dark brown colour tone also provided a direct replacement for the previously laid boards that were regularly having to be painted in dark brown decking oil. The customer was so impressed, she later returned and replaced an additional balcony area with the same product.
